derived from my passion for the internet and my fascination of japanese mafia. in 1998, I
bought the domain name after i moved to San Francisco (during the peak years of the dot-com era).
It has been become my stamp on the world wide web since, escaping the dot-com bubble burst
unscathed.
I've developed many website incarnations for my domain, from a couple of static, not-very-dynamic, table-aware web pages to a PHP3 doohickey, to a Java-powered JSP · MySQL webapp It had majorly heinous SQL in the presentation layer and include directives to manage database connections. In 2003, I moved back to PHP, swiping and kludging parts of Adaptive Path's CSS, standards markup into a custom MVC-ish framework. I also hacked in Drupal and the Menalto Gallery 1.x. Thankfully, I've moved on and integrated my old content into Symfony, an open source PHP MVC framework.

Scholars have traced the origins of the yakuza back to at least the year 1612, when violent bands of newly unemployed ronin samurai, known as kabuki-mono ("crazy ones") took to the countryside in newly formed gangs loyal only to themselves. More information at Wikipedia.
