I stopped by the local ATT store to see if I could upgrade to an iPhone on the same existing plan.
Unfortunately, it's a no go. I would need to sign up for a new family plan at $69.99, upgrade my mom's phone and pay an additional $20 for data service on the iPhone. That doesn't include the $500 for the damn Apple gizmo. I could probably receive a free phone for the second line, so money out is basically the iPhone and monthly dues.
~$95 (w/ taxes) for an upgraded plan w/ a nifty phone or $55 (w/ taxes) for my current, practical plan. That's almost $500 a year ($1000, because of the two year agreement).
I think I'll stick to rotary, thanks.Labels: apple, att, consumerism, iphone
