Entry: I dislike the job-seeking process. A little less than three years ago, I poured 26+ hours while interviewing at Yahoo!, Google, Zazzle and Wily Labs. Painful. Plus, I get the jitters whiteboarding w/ the interviewers.

I really wished that Linkedin released their API, so I could parse m' data to generate m' resume. I'm already doing something similar w/ m' Facebook profile on m' "About Me" page.

I've already set minimum requirements regarding compensation: nothing less than Alex Rodriguez's 10-year, $275 million dollar contract w/ the Yankees. Hey, I don't use 'roids. That counts for something right?

Oh, the new year is approaching mightily fast .... back to hackin' m' resume.

Power. Ego. Position. Individualism. Capitalism. Exploitation. That's corporate America.

Office politics is for pansies. I'm sick of big company politics and the 'status quo'. I always believed that if you "trusted your gut, do what's right and cut the bullshit", then you'll gain the respect of your peers and anything you do will be grand. No football team can win if its 11-person defense does not work together to hit their gaps and cover their zones.

When a person is lauded for achievements not theirs alone, for demeaning others to achieve their goals and frankly alienating themselves from their teammates, that's just soddin' bollocks. It's putting the wrong type of individual above the team and condoning that same behaviour. Respect is earned from all directions and not just above.

I dream too much of a better world and rules less perverted.

Entry: In October, it'll be my 10th anniversary since joining the workforce. 120 months. Minus 8 months in between jobs: 2 months after moving to the Bay Area in 1999 and 6 months after I quit Razorfish in Summer 2001 -- the dot-com bust and 9/11 didn't help getting another.

That's 93.3% uptime. Feels much, much longer.

Only 35 years til retirement. Can't wait for Social Security and Medicare!

Entry: I usually roll into work between 10-11am. Today, I stepped out of the elevator quarter til eleven and a PM mockingly greeted yers truly, "Good Afternoon."

I'm no prima donna and I don't think anyone should bow to anyone else, but I deserve more respect than that. I've been hacking on Answers and Bookmarks (and a little bit of del.icio.us) for over 18 months, am one of the original Answers engineers dating back to Aug 2005 and poured in countless weekend hours.

I'm moving on in a couple of weeks, so I'm trying to let these little things slide. =)
