The Mamas and The Papas

I’ve been playing out a wonderful tune named “California Dreaming” by The Mamas The Papas. Apparently, everyone else has heard it except for yers truly.I heard it first in Wong Kar-Wai’s classic, Chungking Express. His films are dreamlike, filled with lucid colors, dark off-the-wall characters and a moody soundtrack. It reminded me of his other piece, Fallen AngelsIf I had the chance to work (as a Hollywood star in some backward universe) with any director, my list would include Wong, Michael Mann, and Steven Soderbergh. Guy Ritchie Tarantino and David Fincher, maybe; I hesitate because of the violent nature of their films. I prefer ambience, symbolism and deep characters. Oh, I’m so bored being outta work. But soon … =)
